To listen to one or more WVMV Podcast feeds in your Podcast software (reader):
- Click on the "SUBSCRIBE" link next to the topic of your choice
- Copy URL from the location bar in your browser or from the first lines of the RSS Code.
- Paste the URL into your Podcast application
Podcasting is a method of receiving syndicated audio content, using the RSS 2.0 file format, at no cost. Once a provider serves the data as a Podcast feed, users can listen to it on their PC or Mac by using Podcasting software (see below.) Since Podcasts are MP3 audio files, you can transfer feeds to your MP3 Player.
Some new browser toolbars (Google and Yahoo if configured) now will automatically detect the RSS code when the window opens and prompt you to subscribe.
To listen to the syndicated RSS feeds on your computer, you need to download Podcasting software. There are many free or commercial Podcasting applications available for download. Here are a select few:
Playing and Downloading:
To simply play a podcast, click on the play symbol. The special podcast player window will appear using your existing Media Player.
To download a podcast (MP3 audio file), click on the download symbol. If you have a Media Player configured to launch when you click on the download of an MP3 file, you will have to select the Save feature in that program to save the file to your hard-drive as the file will begin playing after any buffering. You may also (on a PC) right click on the symbol to "Save target as..." (or ctrl-click for Mac) where you can avoid launching an associated Media Player and save the file directly to disk. |
