Henry Ford Hospital Looking for Participants for Prostate Cancer Study
As part of a $9 million grant from the National Cancer Institute, Henry Ford Hospital is embarking on an expanded major clinical trial involving gene therapy combined with state of the art radiation therapy to determine if the combined treatment is more effective than radiation therapy alone for patients with intermediate risk prostate cancer. Previous studies have shown encouraging results from the combined treatment. The current study is open to 280 patients over a three-year period who will be randomized to have either state of the art radiation or the combined treatment.
